    Arbeidsend

    Skurfberg

Arbeidsend has been in the van Lill family for three generations. Traditionally rooibos tea and sheep farmers, Basie van Lill’s father decided to plant a few parcels of vines to diversify. These vineyards are also surrounded by fynbos.

    COGH Arbeidsend Location

    Climate

Hot and dry summers follows a mild winter with very low rainfall. Day temperatures during summers can easily rise above 35°C, but the proximity to the ocean and the high altitude ensures cool nights which contributes greatly to the quality of the wines.

    Aspect

Vineyards are planted between 519m and 543m above sea level on south-easterly slopes.

    Soils

Bleached topsoil on deep weathered, yellow to red coloured apedal soils of predominantly fine to medium sand fractions. These soils are well-drained without severe restrictions.
